Worst First

Do you ever make a list of things to be done and wonder where to begin?  In Steve Chandler’s Book, “100 Ways to Motivate Others”, he suggests doing the Worst First.  He’s got lots of other great ideas in this book so you may want your own copy just for a reference book! Click ctrl+click http://amzn.to/ONtknU to order your copy today!

The whole concept is to get the most important thing, the thing you’re dreading the most or the thing that will make the biggest difference in your life done–NOW!

If you know you have obligations for the month, attempt to get them done the first week of the month.  The rest of your month will be amazing.  The same goes for a day or a week.  Get the most pressing items done early.  Everything else will seem like a breeze.  No more albatrosses around your neck weighing you down.

If you don’t know which is the most important, try this little exercise.  Make your list.  Start at the top with the first item.  Compare the first item with the second one.  Which one is the most important (or the worst)?  Whichever is most important, compare it with the third item.  Do this with each item until you reach the bottom of the list.  Whichever one is the most important after doing the comparisons, put a number one by it.  Now start at the top of the list again going through the same process (eliminating the one that already has a number by it).  Continue until each item as a number next to it.  Now you’ll know in exactly which order to conduct your tasks…

How will you be reminded of this information?  Take a 3 X 5 index card and  write out:  WORST FIRST (cherylmakesiteasy.wordpress.com).   Post it where you will see it regularly, refer to the blog site if you need to and use the information until it becomes a habit.
